working out child tax credit

is there a way of working out how much child tax credit i would be entitled too in different circumstances. i am trying to work out the financial difference of working part time doing 3 days or 4 days and after childcare i actually end up worse off doing more days but i am assuming i should get more child tax credit? however on the ctc calculator it only lets me calculate from now till april is this correct? thanks in advance

Try the Direct gov uk website. You can do a benefits estimate through the Benefits Adviser (it is a lengthy process compared to some other sites!) and then at the end you get a "What if..." option and you can go back and change details such as wages, childcare etc and play about with the figures.

    Hope that helps!
