In my flat just now i have virgin broadband and there wireless router (cable modem connects to tit and a lead from this to pc)so not only can i stream music etc to xbox but i can use the laptop in other rooms on the net.
Im moving out and in with someone else to flat share who has sky broadband. They have the sky hub??in the hall and they connect wirelessly to it on the laptop.
My question is how do i get access to the internet from my pc as its not wireless. Can i use the wireless router and plug in and search for the hub??Its a dlink router...

No, you need to get a wireless adapter for your PC. Either an internal one with a little aerial out the back or a USB one.
Should not cost more than about £20.0 -
Aww thanks for that

got both of them on two of my systems and they work better than the "branded" counterpart.*_*_* Department of Redundancy Department *_*_*0 -

arriva has listed a good PCI wireless adapter there, although if you are gaming on your PC you may want one with a higher Mbps rating.
Check out what the maximum Mbps the Sky hub is capable of, if it's higher than 54 I'd buy a card that matches this as it will make your connection quicker.Homeowner with 1st mortgage sine Dec 09

Enter the phone number of the house into something like BT Broadband checker or get he/she to run speedtest from http://www.speedtest.net/ and see what it is capable of. Also ask he/she what there package says AFAIK sky offers lots of speeds (depending of how much you pay)4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
