Claiming IS when owed wages.

For 9 months I have been working for a small business.
The owner has now decided to close, due to the amount of money owed, and no sign of a recovery.
I'm trying to figure out if I stay to the end, 2 months max, or leave now.
I'd like to stay, out of loyalty more than anything else, but with my rent and council tax due, I feel that I don't have much choice.
As of tomorrow, I'm owed 2 weeks wages, and I'm financially sinking fast. I can't see any sign of money being available, as all the other payments have priority.
How does IS work when the claimant is owed money from an employer?
Will it be deducted, on the assumption that I'm going to get it at some point?
I'll be claiming IS, as I am a carer for 2 autistic children, but my aim will be to find part time employment that fits in with their needs.
Regards

If he's too skint to pay your wages, there's nothing for Income Support to consider. Just get a letter from him saying he's unable to pay your final wages due to difficult trading conditions.
And that's just about it, really.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0
