Opening .docx with old Office prog

Anyone have any suggestions of how to open these .docx files we get on e-mail, we're only running Office 97 on the home computer and wondered if you know if there is a conversion program that will do it simply rather than sending it to someone to convert (open & save as .doc)

Well its word 97, so presumably its office 97......excuse my ignorance

If the above Office Compatibility Pack does not work with Word 97 you can install the Word Viewer from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=3657ce88-7cfa-457a-9aec-f4f827f20cac

Alternatively convert them online at http://www.zamzar.com to .doc

or just upload them to office web apps (if you have hotmail) or google docs (gmail) where you can view and edit them without having to install anything and for free

Google word/excel/powerpoint etc viewer. Free from Microsoft and will let you view all files.
