My friend has just listed an item. It's her first listing, and she's either missed the reserve price part, or wasnt offered it.
Can ahe add a reserve price after the listing has already gone on?
If not, can she cancel this auctiona nd start again?
Could any replies be directed to a real novice, pls? Thanks!!
TIA,
Mumxx

If there are bids you won't be able to change it... in fact I'm not certain you can add a reserve after the listing has begun.
If in doubt, go here to cancel the item, and enter the auction number:

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I wouldn't bother with a reserve but would just go for a minimum start price that is accepatble. As long as there are no bids I a pretty sure you can do that. Just go into the listing and change the start price.
Reserve price auctions must have a minimum reserve price of £50 and just annoy potential buyers. If I wanted to know the reserve and I could easly bid £500 cancel it and correct it to £50, thus revealing the reserve. Reserve prices are also relatively expensive especially if theydon't sell.
Best going for higher start price.0 -
thankyou for your replies!
She has successfully altered the starting bid.
I told her we'd get the answer on MSE!!
