So I was wondering what everyone's opinion on cycle lights was - is it safer for a cyclist to have their rear light on constant or flashing?

I must say I thought they were annoying at first, but now find them easier to notice!0

If it was me, I'd have it flashing...easier to notice.0

However the law states you must have a constant lamp.
Unless of course it's changed and I've missed it.0 -
Who cares about the law when it comes to bicycle lights? I'd take my chances being seen better than worrying about some jobsworth copper stopping me tbh lol MFI BBQ OMG !!!!!!0

Sorry, just stating fact.
Some copper in Northumbria promoted them when they first came out and offered to pay anyones fines.0 -

Yes, the law has indeed changed - it is now permitted for a cyclist to have a flashing light as long as it meets certain criteria.

i have flashing front and rear lights as it attracts attention better. i use a constant front light for darker streets/paths0

Does it matter? No amount of lights, flashing or no, hiviz or reflectors is going to save you from the bloke who isn't looking.0

Shows up on the quote.0 -
I think flashing lights do attract attention better but I also heard some motorists have trouble with depth perception when a flashing light is used - thats why I'm unsure what is best.0
