MSE News: Virgin Media uses VAT rise to retrospectively hike phone prices

I don't think virgin should be allowed to get away with this and would urge any other customers to do the same. They know they are wrong but think of the size of money they will be getting on each individual account.
This about is for a second. VAT is a tax. All the money will go to the Government. By charging 20% for the whole of the bill Virgin will gain exactly £0.00. In fact Virgin Media stated that they will round the VAT increase down to the nearest penny. So if you want to argue about a few pence then it's Virgin who will be losing out.
It has been mentioned a few times earlier in this thread that Virgin Media are following HMRC's guidelines. If you have a problem you need to speak to them about it.0 -
The overcharged VAT on my bill was £0.17. I managed to get £1.72 as a good will gesture.
Just goes to show you that if you have a go you can win. Worth a go just for the satisfaction.0 -

If you had a go at hassle the average "man in the street" I am sure they would give you a £1 "good will gesture", just to make you go away!

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is.0
