Redundancy - Local council advice

I have worked for the local council for less than 2 years. Have been advised that our pay structure is changing and we have 2 weeks to either accept the new pay structure/job or if we refuse this we are making ourselves redundant. Pay will be held the same for the next 12 months. Perhaps someone would be able to advise if:

1. Is 2 weeks the correct time period for this? It seems very short.
2. Would I be entitled to any redundancy? Not sure how if works for councils, have been told there will be no enhancements. Work approx 9 hours a week.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have received a pay freeze this year, I think most LA workers, Government workers etc are in the same boat

Is it just this that you are unhappy about or are there other factors in the pay structure that you are unhappy about?

I am unsure about the 2 week notice of the change, you could contact CAB or ACAS about this as they may already be looking at this for a colleague

Hi,
I thought they had to give 90 days notice of any changes to contract.

As far as I know you have to work 2 full years to be entitled to redundancy. I have received my notice today and they have worked it out as 1 weeks pay for every full year of service, so you would probably get two weeks pay.
