Hi guys
i have a wireless ethernet transmitter so that I can get the internet in the office at home.
Basically I now need to have a phone in this room.
Does anyone know if I use an RJ45 to BT converter and plug it into the wireless receiver, will I get a phone line?
Hope I'm making sense.
Thanks

I'm not too sure if you would, does the router have a phone port (I have one on my home hub) if it does you can use that to make voip calls.
Otherwise you could always purchase a telephone with 2 handsets, as far as I am aware you only need to have the main base connected to the phone line and the other handset just needs a plug socket0 -
No idea what your device is capable of unless you can post make/model of some kind.
If you have the internet in your office you can make VOIP calls from your PC and possibly some form of skype custom handset if you setup a skype in/out account.
Alternatively you could get a wireless / DECT phone and position the base near an existing phone socket but peersonally I can;t stand the things

I see what you have now I've heard them called powerline adapters, I'm using a similar model with my BT Vision package.
What they do is, the carry a connection through the power circuits in your home (not the most technical way of explain it). You connect your router using an ethernet cable to one adapter and you plug the other adaptor in the room you require an internet connection and then connect it to your pc with another ethernet cable.
You can't connect a telephone to these. So my suggestion would be if you haven't got it already is to buy a phone twin set like this one http://www.cordless-phones.uk.com/cordless-phones/multihandset-answering-machine/panasonic-6522-twin-phone as suggested in my first post. hth0
