Advice?

I booked a week to a Pontins caravan park a couple of days ago and paid a deposit. I have just found out today that Pontins went into administration in November, when I called however, they stated that they were going to continue honouring bookings and I need not worry.

When I booked it, there was nothing stated on their website that they were in administration, if I had known, I'd have stayed clear of them. Since I booked it for June, I'm a little worried now since anything can happen to it from now to June.

The rest of the balance is due to be paid in April so I'm not sure whether I should take the risk and pay the rest of the money.. or take the hit and loose the deposit and book somewhere else in the area I plan on visiting.

Conveniently, the option to purchase cancellation insurance on their website wasn't available and now I understand why.

Any advice on what I should do?

Yes I did but the deposit was only £50 so I guess my only options would be to forfeit the deposit or pay the rest of the balance and hope that it doesn't shut down.

Camber Sands? I've probably picked the worst one, haven't I? With my luck, that one is probably on the verge of closure. :rotfl:

  • as an ex employee of mfi i can tell you the administrators told us to keep taking orders right untill they decided to close us down, if it was me i would take the hit of 50.00 pounds and look elsewhere,
if you do decide to risk it and things go bits up then have a look at martins section 75 of the credit cards bit which explains that as long as the holiday was over a certain sum you only had to pay 10.00 to qualify for a full refund of all money not just the 50.00.
    hope this helps
