Interesting... when they take you on as an assessor you can opt out of viewing adult sites and if many have, its feasible there could be a shortage of people to assess such sites.

Hi I got an email from Lionbridge saying they are no longer reruiting for the assessor role, but have positions for a media role which would involve viewing adult sites. It says to fill all the forms in by tomorrow morning to be considered.
Do you think this sounds suspicious ? Or have other people done this ?
    Kind regards
    Julie

I got this too, and was just about to send off the application when I read the search waiver carefully.

I've an awful suspicion that the sites we could find ourselves accessing may be legal in the USA but not in the UK and we would risk getting into trouble with this one. By the time I've checked it out properly the application deadline will have expired so I guess this is another one I miss out on :(
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Thanks for this, I was still umming and ahhing, I am going to give it a miss, It is a bit too risky, also my kids sometimes use my laptop so I wouldn't want them seeing anything scary.:eek:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well I have just sent off my application for the media role - I received the e-mail yesterday afternoon and it said deadline was 9am on Tuesday 25th June, so I presume they mean today (26th)!

I agree that the waiver is worded a bit strangely, I was pondering all night whether to go ahead or not. But I could really do with the money and don't have kids who might see something indecent on the pc. The wage seems good per hour, just hope it isn't too good to be true.

I got this email too. Had some issues scanning and emailing all the things but have sent it off. I have kids but can work when they are in bed if I get the job! Surely they can't ask us to get into legal difficulty? Must admit I was so determined to get all the paperwork in, I missed that bit on the waiver. But it's gone in now, and the money would be handy.

Well I've made my eyes sore reading through stuff, and as far as I can tell it isn't illegal to access the sort of stuff referred to in the waiver.

But you MUST follow to the letter the guidance to not share, display, distribute or otherwise publish or draw attention to these materials with other persons. If you do any of those then it is illegal here.

I've no legal experience and hope someone who has can give better guidance on this.

I signed this waiver that I believe you are all posting about, been rating for 5 months and have probably only been sent 2 related tasks, and to be honest I have seen a lot worse with just normal internet usage so I wouldnt worry too much.

    NRT again today however......
