paypal dispute problem - updated events

I'm in the middle of a paypal dispute (I am the buyer). I bought a DVD not realising it was a copy.

The DVD has been returned (I submitted the tracking info).

My paypal resolution bit now says they are waiting for me to respond. It says that an email was sent to me on 2 November. I haven't received this email  . I'm sure there will be a time limit for me to respond to the email.

How can I let paypal know that I didn't receive it? I only have one email account for paypal and I received other emails from them on the 2nd and also a day before and after...

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks for your help!

  • Why not send PayPal an email saying that you haven't received the email that they are waiting for you to respond to. Alternatively, it might be easier to give them a call.

I've just tried to email them, but when I now go into my paypal account no disputes are shown  Does this mean that the dispute has been closed?

Just looked at the case closed section and it's saying a response was not received by me - I'm so mad!!!!

Do I have any recourse at all? The telephone line doesn't open til 12.

So now Mr Sczzy fake DVD seller has my £10 AND the fake DVD - he's quids in!!!!
  • I think that once the dispute is closed that's it. However, I'd definately give PayPal a call when phone line opens as you have sent the item back and provided PayPal with the tracking information.

I telephoned paypal yesterday (what a nightmare getting through their automated system lol!)

The email on 2 November was a reminder to send the tracking info. I confirmed that I had sent tracking info and had also received the confirmation email saying they had received the faxed copies.

They told me thay would re-instate the claim as they had obviously messed up.

    Here's hoping I see my £10 again ;)

Hope all turns out well for you. At least paypal are admitting that they messed up this time!

  • Hi doorstep,

I had exactly the same thing but with some dodgy JPG aftershave. I sent the goods back to the seller (who had over 1000 good feedbacks) via recorded delivery. He stopped answering my e-mails once he had signed for the goods so had to raise a claim. Nearly 2 months later I have my money back!!! I must have sent Pay Pal 30+ emails during the dispute and no end of faxes so just keep in there and you will get it sorted!!

Well today I checked my email and I have three emails from paypal.

The first from yesterday (late), a reminder to fax my tracking info

The second this morning confirming that the dispute had been closed as I hadn't provided the tracking info

And the third confirming that they had received the fax but it was unreadable and could I re-fax or email them back the tracking info.:rotfl:

Whilst replying to the email I did point them in the direction of the other two emails and said I assumed that these were sent in error... :D

    Don't you just love them!

Just another thought - I have a premier account, when I finally do get my refund (i like to be positive) will they deduct their fee for receiving th payment?
