We are all here with a common mission to save our cash. Was wondering if this forum allows its users to recommend companies that have done a good job and not ripped off their customers.

Companies and individuals who people feel gave them value for money and would feel happy to recommend them to others. Such as plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators, gardeners, garages etc.

Im lucky in that I have alot of family and friends around who have lived in the area along time and could recommend these people to me. It has saved me alot of time and money over the years. Also stopped me from worrying whether it will cost me a fortune to put things right if the job is done badly.

What do you all think?

Think you can do so on Praise Vents and Warnings. Maybe as well on the Local boards (although I rarely visit them).

Nightmare.......there is a local forum where I live where this is done, everybody recommends themselves and their mates......about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Nothing beats personal recommendations from actual physical beings..........

I've recently found checkatrade.com which does just that, you can search for service providers (i..e builders, plumbers, sparkies etC) in your area and see previous customer's feedback.
