Hi, inputted my yearly consumption into: uswitch, energylinx, gocompare and energyhelpline.
The latter 3 all gave savings of a similar amount - approx £250 but uswitch only gave a saving of £100.
This seems odd given that uswitch are the most well known comparison provider...?

Did you input your consumption as £s or Units? Units are always more accurate.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Whilst I totally agree that the only true way of getting anything like meaningful figures from a comparison site is to input actual annual usage, that doesn't mean that should you just put in your monthly spend on each site the difference between them should be anything significant?0

OK, I'm with British gas on standard tariff - monthly DD. At the end of each quarter there is usually an outstanding balance to pay, which the DD hasn't covered. In the warmer months the DDs cover the bill.
Inputted usage in £ - approx 1400 over the year. Units are too complicated for me.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

Ah well, GIGO!
You need to input accurate data if you want accurate and consistent output. Contact your supplier (if it's not already summarised on your bill) who will give you the kWh data you need for accurate comparison."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
