Now that the default date of 65 has been scrapped by the government how does this affect redundancy payments for people of now who are say 67 and retiring say in March.

i doubt it will as the cancelling of forced retirement doesn't come into force untill April 1st.The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

NO redundancy if retiring
stay onand you should get the full redundancy if made redundant
I think people can still be retired on othe ground than age.
For those with a defined benifits pension where they have hit the max, retiring, taking the pension, returning to work may be the best option.
If the company failes to get you to take a break in contract you can still then be eligable for a full service redundancy package later.
Many companies are wise to this though.0 -
Sorry, maybe I shouldnt have used the word retiring,
Same question then, without the word retiring, just being made redundant at 67 years of age in May.
And what about someone who is 70 and is made redundant.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
