Hi,
Just wanted some advice. I built a PC about a year back, which for the last few months has been taking ages to load on startup. My PC screen just goes black then i have to wait 4/5 mins to get to the login screen. Having looked at the device manager all the drivers seem to be installed fine so I can't think what else it could be. By the way I am running Windows XP Pro.
Thanks for any advice in advance! :money:

it's free (for now), it'll tell you everything thats trying to start at boot.
Are you sure you haven't got an anti-virus program scanning your system at startup? Some of them take forever! You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
Had a similar problem a while back, my laptop was taking 5 minutes even to come out of hibernation. Removed Norton Antivirus and it was like a new laptop again.0

Its definately not the anti-virus software as I remember re-installing windows and deleting all the virus protection and it still took an age.
P.S It's very strange when my pc boots just after the windows xp loading screen passes anything connected to the actual pc inc monitor, usb mouse and lcd keyboard switch off for 3/4 mins then they all turn on at once."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
