in Credit cards
Hi,
I recently applied for this card and was accepted by BarclayCard. In my naiviety of bt cards i though it was balanace transfer into a current account. Therefore during the application when i was asked, will you be transferring from other credit cards? i ticked no as i thought it would be from my current account.
Now that i know that you can't do this with bt cards (well maybe you can but it will be very expensive) a friend has offered to pay on his credit card into my current account and then i use my bt card to transfer the debt on his credit card onto my bt card.
However, since i ticked 'no' to the question regarding transferring from other credit cards during the application, will this mean that my bt card will not actually be able to do this. During my application since i ticked this it actually made my application a little more favourable to the credit card company and thus my acceptance?
Please help, i'm a credit card diddy.
Cheers
Jim

You should* still be able to BT his debt to your card. However, what are the fees involved at their end? If 4% (on MBNA for example) then your BT is going to cost you nearly 7% isn't it?
* Just don't volunteer the fact the other card isn't in your name, but answer truthfully if asked directly. You may find an online BT request is better.0
