If you explain why, we might be able to suggest the best angle to take?

    Dear Sir
Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended)
On DATE 2010, I bought a Ford Focus blar blar blar Registration Number XXXX for £XXXX which is not fit for purpose made known.
The car has been back to your garage several times each time with different issues
    The problems were:
    • 2 valves replaced
    • Engine replaced – 12 month warranty, 2 years free servicing and MOT given as courtesy gesture
    • Thermostat/temperature sensors replaced – car still faulty
    • Circulation problem
    • Electrical fault
I wish to reject the goods and claim a full refund on the advice given by Consumer Direct.
Please respond to my complaint within 7 days from receipt of this letter.

Do you think this will be ok?

Dear Sir/Madam [or Manager's name if known]

Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended)

On date 2010 I purchased the following item Ford Focus Model Reg Number

Unfortunately the vehicle has not performed satisfactorily because
On 00/00/2010 fault dah de dah
    Returned on 00/00/2010
On 00/00/2010 fault dah de dah
    Returned on 00/00/2010
On 00/00/2010 fault dah de dah.
    Returned on 00/00/2010
On 00/00/2010 fault dah de dah
    Returned on 00/00/2010
On 00/00/2010 fault dah de dah
    Returned on 00/00/2010

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, the goods should be:-

    - Of satisfactory quality

    - Fit for their purpose

    - As described

I believe I have given you ample opportunity to rectify this vehicle. Therefore I reject the goods as there was an inherent fault at the time of purchase. I require a full refund of the purchase price.

I would appreciate a response within 14 days outlining your proposals to resolve this matter. Otherwise I will have to consider further action, if necessary through the small claims court.

    Yours faithfully.

You could also add that you require any additional cost that you have incurred.
