redundancy advice please

Options
Any advice would be greatly appreciated... i`ve been working for a local builder for the past 9 years and the company we mainly do work for has gone belly up... We are going to have a meeting in the office tomorrow and all does not look good :(
So if anyone can help with any advice on the ins and outs of being made redundant and how quickly they can make us redundant etc it would go a long way in helping ease this knot in my stomach....thanks

Depends. How many employees are going? Less than 20 and you'll probably just work your notice period and be paid off at the end of it.

Statuatory redundancy is 1 week for every year you've worked there, capped at £380 a week. So you're looking at a payment of a maximum of £3420 (less if you earn less than £380pw obviously). You should get back any leave you haven't taken too.

I know how you feel. I'm redundant in March.
