After the age of 16 you are classed as being an adult for the purpose of housing, as far as I have been led to believe. As soon as my son turned 16 I was classed as needing a three bedroomed property. I have already said on numerous occassions on here i am hapyy to accept a two bedroomed property.0

Our council policy is the same, if there is a five year age gap where the children are the same gender they are allocated points and are entitled to a room each.

Hi. Joined this a bit late!
I hope you get something soon.
Where I work, there are grants given to people. The value is between £500-£3000!
Some people can "flee" a property and leave all their belongings behind. Then move to a fully furnished "homeless" property. They get this because of the children!!
Except, the property they "fled" was furninished by the tax payer via a Community Care Grant of £3000! Also the belongings were taken with the person that feld.
When you ask where all the furniture and belongings you were awarded previosuly are, you get this "flee" story.
Normally if someone had furnished their house twice or 4 times, you woulld simply refuse the application on the basis the item/s would not need replacing so soon.
Nowadays though with Jobcentre Plus. It;s all about stats. You have to give evereybody everything. Don't question that they have had 3 cookers in 4 years.
If you nil them on balance of probabilities, then your case has failed the quality check. Claimants are caught up in a circle of "housing department says you are entitled to this or that" or "social security regultions says you are entilted to a cooker. If it's your 4th or 5th cooker - who cares?!!! - you are entitled"
The government has creatited a monster, Everyone suffers!
Maybe this post has made the topic a bit "off thread". Hopefully though it will help someone.0
