Me and a Friend are on holiday from the 20th Jan - 31st Jan. We decided we would like to go on holiday instead of wasting a week off.
All we need really is somewhere clean in a place thats sunny, which has a few bars around. Fancy tenerife perhaps or somewhere similar. Seen a few places between 117 and 140 quid. Anyone know any places we could go? Hopefully soon as were trying to book immediately.
Much Appreciated

Wot, no sex??
Seriously, I think you are looking in the right direction already (Canaries), although someone is just back from Tunisia (look through posts) and the tremperature wa between 20-30 daytime, which is higher than I would have expected for there in January.0 -
I only like short flights so tended to stick to Majorca/Costa del Sol and as they are so
popular the flights tend to be cheaper. Have a look at Monarch Airlines on line as they have a great choice of flights. You choose your own and can also choose your seats.
Then, have a look at Melia Sol website. They have a hotel a couple of steps from the beach which is lovely. The hotel is called Sol Cala Blanca and is 62 euros per night half board or you can have B&B cheaper. Also it is not too far from the airport for a taxi. But you could get a bus I think.
Nice weather is not guaranteed. The place for that is Tenerife at this time of year but it is usually more expensive due to the longer flight and it's weather.
What I like about Melia Sol is, that after you book it, if for some reason you can't go, they only charge for ONE night.
Nearly forgot, there are lots of bars near the Sol Costa Blanca hotel.0 -
Thanks for the replies people. As an update, I've been looking to teletext holidays and have been looking for properly cheap under £200 holidays. I found a good hotel ( according to tripadvisor.com anyway) and flights for £150. Although when I called the price it rose to £255(and that was without things like transfers). Is this a normal occurence from teletext holidays then? Is it just cheap to lure you in then they add £100+ to the price? Except for luggage i cant understand what the extra charges could be.0

In my experience, yes. The advertised holiday will never be "available" and the "nearest alternative" will be £££s more. Thanks for the replies people. There is Rioting at the moment in Tunisia, so maybe not that wise to go there(even though i would thoroughly recommend it)
yep teletext usually bumps the cost up, as you need to pay extra for baggage allowance and then transfers etc0 -
I would recommend the Canary Islands if you want a nice tan .
I was in Fuertuventura at the beginning of December & it was lovely & warm ( around 25 degrees ) .
Try Low Cost Holidays or Ice Lolly for some good deals .
To keep the cost of the holiday down just take your free luggage allowance ( yes you really can manage ) that will save you up to £40 pp . Also book your own transfers , if your hotel is close to the airport it is often cheaper by taxi . If not try Resort hopper ,

Finally book your insurance separately which can also be a lot cheaper than booking it with the holiday :j0 -

Yeah I've phoned up a few times and the advertised holiday is never available. What I'm going to do tommorow is phone up with several potential holidays so that they can't use that excuse. They probably will use it anyway but atleast then I'll have something to argue them down a bit.I would recommend the Canary Islands if you want a nice tan .

Thanks, Already had a look at both those sites. Think they work in the same way as teletext though. To keep the cost down we were planning to share 1 case and carry on bag. I don't know what you mean by "free luggage allowance" as I was told that you couldn't take any luggage without paying for it. Its Ryanair they are using so its apparently £40pp for 15kg of luggage. As for the transfers this is actually the part I dread the most, This is the first time I've booked a holiday myself
and I'm worried I'll end up making mistakes with the details. 0 -
Last time I booked a last min holiday it was with Thomas Cook online - cracking price but I guess it depends on your luck and where you want to go.

Last time I used these they didn't bother turning up for the return transfer and we had to get a taxi anyway
