  • Apparently, so someone said to me( so may not be true) Bosch used to own Hotpoint- or made the parts for them. They were then sold and are now inferior and prone to breakdown. I can testify to the *prone to breakdown* bit. I have had hotpoint machines for a few years now. I accept that i do a lot of washing ( DD2 was born with a condition) plus i have had 3 children, so we are washing 5 lots of clothing. I need a reliable machine..so far totally unreliable and i am forever catching up with washing. :(

Me too, i am thinking of Bosch for a new washing machine.:D But i am not sure about the Beko Fridge freezer. I will have a think- i usually manage to talk myself out of a lot of things.

Hello sweetie. I swear by Bosch fridges/freezers, washing machines etc (never had a problem with them till they died on me after a looong life!!!) but i think Firewalker had problems with them. :undecided

That is in the video the story of stuff.

It is gorgeous outside, windy though. I'll be on susan's thread in a bit. Happy birthday to Mr B for tomorrow and a big hug to you as it sounds like hard work. Are you resting at all?

If ever there was a misleading question- which could be misinterpreted in so many ways.:rotfl:

    How is it misleading? :A
As they were of the same make, i have decided that this one can be fixed again-( under warranty) then i am selling it and getting a different one. Enough is enough.
They may offer a new one, but that will also be sold, i now officially hate Hotpoint Aquarius washing machines.

I have a bosch WM and TD and am very happy with both.

I know a couple of people with Miele stuff and they're also very happy.

Bosch would be my preferred choice.
Beko are indeed basic, not much to go wrong.
    My DW is a bosch.

I have a miele vacuum cleaner - dead old but good. Sometimes the name does justify the expense maybe? firewalker didn't agree though i am sure. Have 'Which Magazine' published a list of the best in the category that you can look at. I will tell you what mine is and it is very good except i am too thick to use all the buttons. I didn't understand the manual for the dryer though and haven't been adventurous with that I just dry silks and cottons but it does dry cleaning and allsorts.

Machine is 4 years old (No problems at all but i live on my own so only do a white, red, dark wash in the week maybe that's why): Bosch Exxcel
Dryer is new since xmas: Bosch Exxcel 8 (orgasmic but didn't understand manual, to scared to press all the buttons).
