Are you sure you need a heater ? If your just looking to grow veg seeds then a low cost propagator is probably what you need. Grow them into seedlings then move them onto a bench in the greenhouse and cover with fleece in the evenings if needed.

No i'm not sure. I suppose i could start my seeds off in a propagator on the window sill and then move them into my cold greenhouse...however, i assumed this would be too much of a shock to them from warm window sill to cold greenhouse?

Propagator - then get them into the fresh air - then harden them off for 5 ish days and then they can go into the greenhouse.

Aim for complete removal into greenhouse for mid march. Earlier if you are further south, later if you are further north.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Mine two greenhouses aren't heated but they are both bubbled wraped around the year - helps disperse the light and stop scorching in the summer and traps heat in during the winter.

Even with all the snow we had last month my winter lettuces, sweet peas and young strawberry plants are all doing well out there.

My grandfather did put underfloor heating in his greenhouse - bizzarre but true!
Cabot (0%) left to pay £2455 let the overpayments commence! :D

I'm only planning on heating the greenhouse during march and only at night if there is low temps in May and April
Then get a cheapo paraffin heater, it works fine in our small greenhouse. We have a gas heater in our larger Polytunnel
