Help with Desktop on Vista

When I turn on my computer everything is magnified even the desktop items do not know why this has happened but unable to restore back to normal, it is a dell computer running vista.

my dell/vista does this occasionally...
go to control panel>adjust screen resolution(under appearance and personalisation)>move the little slider to high resolution..
