AA breakdown- were they lying to me?
Following Martins cashback links to the AA to get quotes on breakdown cover, after receiving a horrendous auto renewal of £88 from them & calling to cancel.
I was offered £60 (me & wife - roadside only) so I said I can get it far less than that online - especially if I use a cashback site.
Well the guy in cancellations explicitly stated that I would be charged the full price if I used the service I.E. broke down at any point in the year?
Was he lying or is there anything to this?

What he meant:-
If you do not renew at all, and then break down, and call up the AA to join "on the spot", you will be charged the full price.
Which is true
What I think you think he meant:-
If you join over the internet, getting cashback, and therefore get it for a cheaper price, if you ever call the AA out you would be charged extra to bring it up to the full price.
Which is NOT true.
