Thanks BB&B I didn't realise they were different types of BR. I made myself BR and have had no comebacks from it, as at the time i never had any assets (that was the main reason why i did so maybe i was lucky as i know for other people it can be a different story.)
Thanks for the advice, unfortunately at this time we can't get the amount needed for the house we were buying. So won't be proceeding with our house purchase and will be saving up for a bigger deposit. But when we do move i'll bear that in mind.0 -
Is it this register that solicitors search when distributing inheritance from a will? Does that go back 100 years?

Yes it is, though they could also access the Gazette On Line, where the records are kept permanently
