Roadhawk RH1

I've just bought one of these in-car cameras, so far so good, but have one or two questions which I am interested to hear if anyone else has managed to resolve, it seems the software to make changes doesn't facilitate them but I want to be sure I haven't overlooked something

1/ Turn the screen view 180 degrees to mount camera on dashboard instead of up by the rear view mirror - can it be done?

2/ Change the display to record in KM/H?

3/ How to delete the day's recordings or does it overwrite them automatically?

  • OK, so it seems KM/H can be changed by clicking on the speed display
  • I'm actually looking at getting one of these myself, can i ask how much you paid for it?

also have you informed your insurance company, if so did you get any discounts?

Hiya, so far so good. I spend a lot of time driving abroad so bought it with the intention of using it out there.

Paid 199.95 UKP off their website and with a 4gig card, buit you can buy bigger ones, haven't asked the insurance company about it though.

So far I have noted that I needed to adjust the sensitivity of it.....start it filming then hit a very small bump in the road/or rough track and it shoots another clip, rather than just taking one long film a twenty minute journey was divided in to about 30 odd clips (continual) of the trip, which I guess if you were going to submit a piece to the rozzers you wouldn't necessarily want the piece 15 mins prior where you were speeding included.
There is a setting in the menu where you can adjust this and I have yet to see test it.

The view taken is VERY good, really impressed with it.

Haven't worked out how to delete clips, the manual says it just writes over them.

I would prefer to have it mounted on top of the dashboard instead of hung near the rear view mirror, because power supply is from the cig lighter and it means I have a cable trailing around the place.....but using the mountings supplied the camera would be upside down because it only fixes on one side. I did open it up to see whether I could turn the lens 180 deg. but its not poss. because of the way the lens is wired to the board.
