Don't give up

Just to prove you shouldn’t give up. I had been trying since September to get Air France top refund a taxi fare I incurred when they failed to tell me what time my coach left for Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris after they had put me up in a hotel because a late flight made me missed my connection.
I phoned and e-mailed and got nowhere. Eventually I made an application through Money Claim Online (a county court action basically). Despite them initially saying that they would defend my £81 claim (which was an attempt to frighten me into withdrawing my claim). Two weeks after that they sent me a cheque for £81.
Many big companies try it on. They won’t defend those sort of claims, their lawyers would charge them more to switch their PC on. It’s always worth using this route to settle small disputes. If the claim is smaller than the lawyers’ costs they are likely to settle
