Kumon books are great, don't cost much.0

i agree with the phonics books from elc i have used them for both my girls, and they are normally on 3 for 2 as well, though if you know how they write at school i mean if you can do the letters the same way you can make your own i have and used highlighter pens to write the letters which they then followed with pencil.:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Hi,
was wondering if anyone could help me.
I am looking for writing practice worksheets for a 4 year old, the ones where they trace the dots to form letters then progress along the line to writing it themselves, hope I have explained that clearly enough!
I was hoping to find some free online that I could print off and practice but have hand no luck in my searches so far.
Thank you
Hi,
I don't often post - normally just have little look on here, but thought I would today as have just the thing that ticks all of your boxes (I hope!)

You can change the font type to dotted on the right hand side of the screen to give you the dotted join up effect. As you have a 4 yr old you might also want to try

which will help them to develop fine motor skills.
I hope it helps?0 -
Tracing paper is useful too. And aquadraws and megasketchers.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

You can write your own words in yellow highlighter and then let your child go over with a normal HB pencil. That way they can put their own words with a picture, write their name etc.0

I just writing in yellow pen and and dd copies over - its insant and she sees what I'm doing and learns from that too - my mil was a head of early years and suggested this method over all the online resources so if its good enough for her its good enough for me!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Don't get hung up on buying things in - creating them yourself is dead simple if you have a few minutes. Yellow highlighters, lined paper and a pencil is all you need.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

It's also good to make the letters physically - for example, writing them in sand or on a textured surface using a finger. That can get their brain used to making the shapes of the individual letters and can also help when it comes to joining them up.0
