Camera-Hong Kong-Pitfalls?

I wish to purchase a digital camera and I found the one I wanted at a very good price,however it states that it will be shipped in from Hong Kong.

Can anyone point out the pitfalls (if any) of doing this,even though the 'seller' may appear to have a very good rating.

Would it be liable to import duty?

Assuming you are happy with the seller, and most are fine.

Expect to pay VAT (17.5%) on price. And a post office clearance fee probably £4.

Do not get it sent by courier the costs will go through the roof they charge you and then pay...and I think they make it all up.

You might get lucky and not be charged anything but I wouldn't count on it.

Then `User Profile` (or something like that. Delete it then `Save Changes`

click on 'user CP' and change your profile - its your signature, apparantley peoples signatures all got mixed up when the forums changed over - i ended up with a link to a scottish highlands website!
