Hi

My husband put a claim in for Jsa last week and has his 1st appointment today.

i was just wondering how long it will be before he gets a payment? Will he sign today and then sign in a fortnight then get paid ?

or sign today and get paid for the week ?? then fortnightly as of next time?

It can take quite a while unfortunately for payments to be processed, especially over Christmas and New Year.
When I last claimed Jobseekers Allowance it took about three or four weeks for everything to be completely sorted out.

If he's signing on though that's different as payments are made withing three working days, best of luck

At the moment its taking about 12 working days to payment -from the day you attend the jobcentre for the first interview. The first 3 days of a claim are unpaid so will not count towards any money due . It is likely that a payment will go out after the next signing though.

he went to jobcentre for his interview today and he is in the time limit for a rapid reclaim. So thats what they did and said he will get a payment sometime next week then signs every 2 weeks as of the 24th
