    Hey,

    I used to work at ING in there savings department. Even if you close the account - if you ring them up in to the future to open a new account, they still have your details (this is for however long is legal, 7 years I think?)... and you are not classed as a new customer unless you left 2 years before wanting to re-open.

    It's funny - they're like an anti-building society. Instead of carpet bagging by leaving a small amount in, you're better off leaving ASAP!

    I just closed it. Once I got through to a human being, it took less than a minute. And the nice lady on the phone specifically said that although they will keep my details, I will be eligible for 'new customer only' products in 6 month's time.
