The ongoing saga of my (insert expletive here) Ford Focus!

This is a continuation of this thread:

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2782050=

My 10 plate Focus has been towed back to a dealer today, as it started indicating by itself again (last did this in October).

None of the local dealers could see it before friday, and as I was stuck in the middle of town with an undriveable car I called Ford Assist breakdown people to come out (AA bloke arrived and took me to the nearest Ford garage, as he agreed it was not safe to drive).

I'm now waiting for the courtesy car to arrive, and wondering what Ford will say/do/not do to our car this time.

We are going to contact CAB/trading standards later on today (I would call now but I'm waiting for the car hire place to call me)
to see what our consumer rights are. This is the fourth garage visit since we bought it in June.

Anybody have any suggestions about what we should do? :(

Should have just pulled the fuse and pretended it was a BMW.

Replaching the switch cured it last time, So maybe a dodgy batch/ Heavy handed user?

Not seen lots of reports of the same problem so must be unlucky.

Re: The starting issue is it petrol or diesel? Petrol cars sometimes respond better if you floor the
throttle when switching the engine off. Sucks fresh air into the intake making it easier to start.

Diesel cars may need an ECU update, Or check the glowplugs.

It's a petrol, the starting issue seems to have dissappeared ATM. (maybe it was a gremlin that's gone away with use)

I don't believe I'm heavy handed on the indicators (it's only done 2,700 miles) and there are no other reports of the same problem on Ford's database (I like to be different! ;)). The only thing they came up with last time was that it maybe water getting in through the wing mirrors (it did rain quite heavily last night).

The ball is in their court now, we have a hire car (provided though ford) so it is costing them money every day they have our car. So hopefully they will come up with something, although we suspect they will just put another switch on it.

It's just frustrating, we traded in our old car (a lovely, reliable W reg Escort) for this one, and have had nothing but trouble.
