A freind of mine recentley had a problem with his Dell pc, the motherboard went POP on him, anyway he says he can only use another board from Dell cause apparentley they mess with the contacts so nothing is standard, he says this also goes for any RAM you may want to add (they use diff voltage). This worried me as i have recentley bought a Dell and wish to buy more Ram but not at their inflated prices. Have any of you peeps experienced this before. Also, someone has asked me if i know of a decent pc for around £700 incl moniter, mainly for internet use and games/dvds etc, cause im not looking myself ive not really seen whats been going on in the market front. Any good offers you know about?

Dell mobos do have proprietary connections with regard to power supply and front panel connectors.
Other than that, everything else is normal; buy your RAM from Crucial using their configurator, lifetime warranty, done deal. You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0
