I have a Fiat Multipla. I bought it second hand from a dealer.
On the confused.com website it asks you if your car is an import or not.
It asks:
Is this car an import?
N/A UK Model
Euro Import - uk spec
Euro Import - non uk spec
Japanese Import
US Import
I Have No Idea!
Some foreign cars are made in the uk. I have no idea about mine.
What is it?

When they ask "is it an import?" what they mean is - was the car originally sold by the manufacturer in another country and then imported by a third party into the UK and then registered.
This is a particularly common practice for second hand japanese performance or 4X4 cars, because japanese MOT type rules make older cars uneconomical to keep on the road instead they get exported second hand to the UK.
If the car was originally sold by the manufacturer in the UK - new at first registration - then it is not classed as an import. Which country the car was actually made in doesn't matter.Joe

Oh, I should have said if your Fiat was originally sold and registered by a Fiat dealer in the UK - most likely - then "N/A UK Model" would the applicable box to click :-)Joe

Joe that's great. Thank you for sorting me out. I'm not really thick (or blond LOL!) I had just not really considered the cars origins and how it would affect me before!!** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0

Many thanks for all your thoughts and help.
Insurance is now done and paid for (with 5 hours to spare!)
Going via this website and obeying its commands of who to see and what to do has saved me £59 on my renewal price with the same company I am currently with.
I considered what I needed from my insurer and incentives for staying with them....and they won....but so did I too!** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0
