Flashing light on Dishwasher

Not sure if this is the right forum but I'm hoping someone will know the quick answer.

We have an aged Whirlpool ADP9621 Dishwasher which has been working perfectly normally. However today the green On light is flashing on and off (which it has never done before) and, after pressing the start button, the machine runs for about 30 seconds and then stops. This is all I can get it to do.

Any suggestions what the trouble might be? Thanks

Do you have the manual? Codes like that are often explained in there. If you have lost the manual there is a thread somewhere (possibly in Old Style) for locating on line versions.

Thank you. I tried getting the manual but Whirlpool's site says it is not available.

However, I did find the UKWhiteGoods Forum so I have posted my query on there.
  • I had a similar probelm with my washing machine.

It turned out the washing machine wasn't draining because the pipe was kinked.

We've got a Whirlpool dishwasher (about a year old) and we've had the same problem.A read of troubleshooter guide says the light flashes if there's a malfunction of the washer.
In our case, it usually means the sprayer arm is being obstructed and it won't continue.
If you hold the button down for a few seconds it resets itself, but if the fault is still there it will keep happening.
