Identity theft - store cards opened in my name

in Credit cards
Hi there guys,
Wasn't quite sure which section to post this in but here goes anyway...
So several months ago we received a bill from O2 to a person by my first name but with some other second name. It seemed that they had opened a new contract. We later received late payment notices and subsequently a final demand. I called up O2 and told them that I thought this was fraudulent and no one by that name lived here and have heard no more since.
A few weeks later I received a big Next catalog despite never having bought anything from them. It was addressed to me.
Yesterday I received two letters from Kays and EmpireStores (which are apparently the same company) addressed to me. One saying thank you for recently placing an order for £1015 however it is higher than the credit limit of £1000. The other saying that I have recently opened another Shop Direct Group account and that I cannot open an additional credit account.
Again I have never had anything to do with the companies and have called them up to say that this is obviously fraudulent and they are looking in to it.
Now obviously I am a bit concerned that someone is using my identity to open accounts. I've checked my credit record on CreditExpert and there don't appear to be any fraudulent accounts listed.
Is there anything else I should be doing?
Cheers,
Francis

All sounds like you're doing the right things. The companies involved are the ones to sort it out. Some people on here might tell you that you need to inform your bank, or even the police, but from my experience neither will give a damn.0
