O2/ DHL Delivery

Hi all!

I have never really had to complain about a service before, but I am absolutely fuming and want to know what the best course of action is. I was expecting a mobile phone delivery yesterday. Long story short after contacting O2 and DHL no delivery appeared but online tracking read "no one to receive card left". I phoned DHL this morning to be told "that's what drivers put if they've finished their shift without completing their deliveries". Two further times I called today to be told that yes it's on it's way and to contact the driver's mobile to find out where he is. I did but no reply. Phoned DHL one last time at 2015 to be told that it hasn't been out for delivery at all today and the earliest I can get it is Thursday. O2 have said that I should deal with DHL directly. Well the way I see it is no O2, you employ them, you deal with them. I have been lied to repeatedly by DHL and O2 seems to think that this is acceptable.

What would you do in this situation?

O2 contracted DHL to deliver their phone, its up to them to sort. Your contract is with O2, not DHL.

Do you really want this phone? Do no other networks offer the same phone with the same/better/similar deal?

As above, your contract is with O2 not DHL, it is up to tem to sort out. Ring up O2 and complain and see if they will give you some line rental discount or free bolt-on they are normally pretty good if you ask.
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.
  • I complained to both o2 and DHL and got a letter of apology and £50.00 credited to my account! Result!

Hi Karrie, just read your message. I too have had the same issue and still waiting for my phone it is frustrating and a shocking service. I have been at home from work for two days it was due to be delivered on thursday but then at night it said on the tracker site that it was unable to locate address, however I had no call to ask. It is obvious as the house is next to a hair salon. So I wrote to DHL no response. Phoned up three times yesterday and was told to phone the branch no response, then DHL said that the driver would redeliver item yesterday and I gave more instructions nothing turned up. I phoned last night and was told to phone the branch at 8am this morning, phoned but no response on two occasions, sent another mail to DHL and phoned they advised they have mailed the branch to phone me....I am still waiting. It is a disgraceful service and will definitely complain to DHL and o2.
  • O2 Complaints is the way to go. DHL really don't care if I'm honest!

I recently purchased a new phone from Carphone warehouse for my son who is at Uni
it said next day delivery- but to be honest reading all the threads about DHL - I wasn't holding my breath
we were driving him from home in the midlands back to uni in Liverpool and when we arrived at 2.15pm there was a card saying DHL had tried to deliver a parcel and the couriers mobile number was there to rearrange delivery.

he called them there and then and the lady said " are you in the halls now?" when my son said yes
she said she would come back and re-deliver - by 2.35pm she had been and delivered it- we were VERY pleased with the service - so sorry to ehar of all your troubles with them

I had a chat to a guy online yesterday from o2 and the best he could do was give me £10 off my next bill. Do you still think I should write a letter to both DHL and o2? Got to wait till Tuesday now for the phone :(

Well, as it's distance selling, perhaps telling him that you would refuse delivery and not take the phone at all would concentrate his mind somewhat more?
