Hello!

Want to go down the Island tonight for the fireworks but can't remember what time they start - is it 7.30??????

I wasn't going to bother this year as I wasn't sure if my daughter would like them, but she loved the ones up Fontygary last night, so I will take her.

Do you reckon I'm best parking over the knap and walking across - I remember from previous years that it's absolute chaos with cars getting over there and off again - do you think the knap will be quieter??

  • oh no Lisa only just seen your post the fireworks started at 7.45pm and last 15 mins. We went over Marine Drive as it was less busy and we could drive away quite quickly afterwards. I know they were free but we were slightly disappointed.

i got the info from the vog website in the end - thanks though welsh dragon

i parked on the parade and walked over in the end and it was fine, bit of a nightmare getting off though, crowds of people and me trying to get through with a buggy

i thought they were really good again this year, but they seemed 'lower' if you get me, so maybe you didn't see as much up marine drive - my friend was up there and she didn't think much of them either

i'm thinking of going down the town hall for the light switch on on the 17th, but having been down town today and seen the pathetic string around the roof, i might not bother!
  • Hiya Lisa  I would have loved to have gone to see the lights been switched on, on the 17th but big sis is getting married so won't be around all day until late evening. Shame as it is also my DD1's school fair at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg and there is also something else on but I've forgotten (oops) will check my family diary !!

enjoy your sis's wedding, hope it stays dry for you! is the school fair open to anyone cos my daughter will be going there (in 9 years time) and i'd love to have a look around it and see what it's like
  • Hiya Lisa I do believe it is, but will check with my daughter tomorrow and let you know. My other children go to Sant Baruc in High Street - lovely school.
