Posting Small Jiffy Bags Overseas (Small Packet or Letter Post)?

I'm selling some of my Jewellery that i don't wear anymore.
They're mostly Earrings or Rings, so they can fit in the really small Jiffy bags you can get (90mm x 145mm) & weigh almost nothing.
What i'd like to know is, when posting them Internationally - are they classed as Letterpost or Small Packets?
Thanks for all replies.

I think only printed material can go as letter, I think I read it on the RM website. I suggest you look there as it's got all the information.0 -

This is what it says on the R. Mail website, but it doesn't relate to a limit to the size of the envelope (like UK Large Letter does). Hmmmm.
Letters and postcards
You can send letters and postcards weighing up to 2kg via Airmail. A letter is anything that contains personalised correspondence.
Small packets
We can offer you a cheaper rate if you’re sending gifts, goods or commercial samples. When using this service, please write ‘SMALL PACKET’ in the top left corner on the front. You can also include a letter relating to the contents, but no other personalised correspondence.0 -
Small packet is cheaper than letter rate most of the time. Personally I wouldn't use too small an envelope as I always think that a larger envelope is less easy to mislay and if you're sending outside the EU you will need a bit of space for the customs sticker as well as the address and return address, which for certain countries all need to be on the front of the envelope.
Keep an eye on the value of items as well. The £41 limit also applies to international post.0 -

Yeah, that's true.
Thanks for that.0 -
It would be wise to check that jewellery is covered under a Certificate of Posting. I know that certain things need to be insured. Check on the RM site.0
