Name for condition where child can't walk after fever?

My son has had a fever the past couple of days and his legs are now really sore and he is having trouble walking.
He has had this in the past following a high temperature and it wears off.
I have been searching for the name of this condition - I'm sure I found a reference to it somewhere on the internet before.
Can anyone help?
Thanks :T

Thanks for replies.
No, it isn't either of them. I think it is acute -something, maybe 'muscular' something?!
I don't think there is anything you can do about it, but just wanted to check on the web. Also wanted a name to tell his school so that they don't just think he's messing about!0 -
Sounds like he needs to see a doctor - I would if its my child xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Acute myalgia? Myalgia is just muscle pain and can arise after infections. I don't think the name is important - you need to see a doctor and if you get told your son shouldnt be in school, you tell them that0

Thanks for concern
I have found it now - benign acute childhood myositis. I wanted the name to check if there is anything to help it, although I don't think there is. Just a case of waiting for it to pass.
He has it a before, so it is no cause for alarm, plus my DH suffered from it as a boy too.0 -
Have you actually had him to the doctor at all or have you come up with this diagnosis yourself.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
