Hi

Just after some advice if anyone can help please.

I am due to give birth in about 3 weeks time  , i have been claiming income support and child tax credit as i have been living on my own with dd who is 8.

My partner is moving in this week, i have rang tax credits and dwp who are both sending info out to fill in, in the meantime does anyone know what will be taken off me and what if anything i or my partner can claim as he works 40 hours a week.

Also who else do i need to inform he is moving in?

I have been on entitled to website but its all so confusing.

  • Did you get Health in Pregnancy grant? To be eligible you needed to be 25 weeks pregnant on 1/1/11 - it has now been stopped so if you haven't claimed you may be just in time if you hurry.
Tell everyone - HMRC for Tax Credits - you should get more money for the new baby under one yr old. Tell DWP re Income Support. Tell local council if you get Hoousing Benefit and/or Council Tax beneift as you will lose your single person's 25% discount for CTax. But you will have your partner's income and support to compensate!
If you have a local CAB they can do a benefit enitlement check for you.
  • Your income support will come to and end and you need to informs tax credits of the change of circumstances.

  • Don't worry about frig. seems to be nasty to everyone and only posted 8 times. the word TROLL springs to mind......

As for the OP's question, when you informed tax credits did they say they would send you a new clain form to include your partner as they will now take his income into consideration for child tax and working tax. If you were getting housing and council tax benefit then they need informing also.
  • where did my post go?

yes they said they were sending new forms out for my partner to fill in with his details, thanks i forgot about council tax i will ring them now, my house is mortgaged so still paying that anyway.
  • @nomoney, just to point out when you call your council about hosing benefit, you will not need to contact separatly for council tax benefit, the housing benefit form includes both housing benefit and council tax benefit, once they get the housing benefit form they will work out both entitlements for you, hope that helps and makes it easier for you.
