website to narrow down options

I need to buy a laptop & haven't a clue about the different type of processors available etc, have had a look on some of retailers sites but don't know where to start in narrowing down my choice - is there a website that can help me in choosing whats right for me before i visit the retailers?

what's your budget if you have one/ usage type/ i3/i5/i7 processors will pretty much handle everything you throw at em -- within reason :D

    the price increase is incremental with each/ thus / i3/ i5/ i7 (most expensive ) ///

    budget no more than £400

I dont play games or watch dvds

I do my banking / shopping on line
I'm researching my family tree so I do use a printer a lot & prefer to use a mouse so at least 2 usb ports

    don't need a webcam

have an ipod but its nowhere near full

upload photos occassionally but only have a 100 or so on the camera sd card

also need to buy a new printer thats is compatible with new laptop, again basic is all I require as i have access to photocopier at work

so it doesn't need to be all singing all dancing but reasonably fast & reliable

^webcam pretty much bog standard anyhow/ 3/4 + usb ports very common / decide if you want usb3 -- but expect to pay a premium ///

A £300 one will probably last as long as a £600 one, and will easily do what you want
