Ski School Experiences?

I hope this is the right board for this question :s

We're going to Austria soon, my son will turn 4yo just before we go and is going to Ski School while we're there.
I'm starting to worry about what will happen while he's there :o specifically with toileting, He's perfectly capable of using the toilet himself at home but often public loos are too high plus he will be in ski boots, pants, jacket.

Do the instructors usually deal with taking them to the toilet or is he expected to be able to go himself/no go while there?
Also does anyone know if the instructors are CRB checked like they would be over here?

I started taking our kids skiing when they were 3 (we fibbed to get him into ski school as they had to be 4) and have had no problems. However all ski schools are not the same. I'd suggest posing on here http://snowheads.com/ with details of where you are going and your question and I'm sure someone will give you the info you need.
I'm sure your son will love it, our kids did from the very start, and we have just come back from Italy last week where son now 10 spent whole week skiing with us. All those early mornings at ski school have really paid off.

You make me feel a bit guilty now as my now 17 year old daughter was put into French ski school from when she was 5-7 and I never even thought about her going to the loo. It paid off though - I can't keep up with her!
  • My memories of skiiing in Austria are of herds of kids hurtling down the mountains and having to get out of the way of them. They were all helmetted and having the world of a time. I would imagine if they have ski schools for kids that age, then they should have instructors capable of looking after them, I believe some even had a nanny to help (don't quote me on that, it was a long time ago!!).
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • skied often in Alpbach Austria, the ski school there has policy of when 1 kid in the class needs to go they all do, seems to work well, you know that all the kids are together and not left alone.
