Lloyds PPI query

Thanks for the reply di

These letters, I believe, are the ones saying they need more time after the first 8 weeks. I sent them the questionaires back in mid January and received an acknowledgement from them a few days later (so, about 8 weeks ago).
I'm not surprised they are asking for more time as, we all know, the number of complaints they are getting are at an all time record high.
They informed me in this letter that if I'm unhappy with the delay I can take the complaint directly to the FOS (I knew about this already
).
I just wanted you guys opinions if I should give them some more time (like another 15 days, for example) or if I should just go straight to the FOS. Will Lloyds stop looking into my complaint if I go to the FOS and just let them decide? Will it take longer if I complain to the FOS straight away?
Just looking for the most pratical way of doing things from you marvelous people at MSE
Hiya and your welcome
You can of course complain to the FOS now if you want to, or wait longer, its a decision you can only personally make for yourself on this one.:);)
But if you do want to leave it a bit longer, that is also up to you of course.
I may consider taking the FOS direction if nothing resolved by April.
But as the FOS have large volumes of complaints as well, this may even take anything from 6 to 18 months with them unfortunately.
You could give the FOS a ring and see if they can suggest anything to you at this stage, tell them your undecided on what direction to go now, maybe they will advise you on your best option.

Hi there
Why don't you give it a go yourself?
Good luck.
Thanks Di. I might give it a go, but I don't have all the expertise that CMCs have. I don't think I would be very good in court, and am not to clear on the judicial processes. I definately think I was mis-sold though, because I was told that I should take it in case anything happens. Nothing did happen, so why did I need it? There was no point in having insurance if I didn't use it. They also didn;t read me all the terms and conditions.I drum and knit to help Independent Drummers and Knitters to comply with their rhythms and knitting patterns. Although I am qualified to, I don't advise drummers or knitters for reward.0 -
Hi there, some cms are not all they are cracked up to be, "joe bloggs" can claim and win and sometimes in a short timescale. It just depends if you want to pay a fee to them or keep all of your win, that is the only difference between you and a company. I won with FP (and 100s of others ) just with 1 letter, and we kept all of the win. Go on, give it a go, you might just suprise yourself:Dthe_knitting_drummer wrote: »Thanks Di. Hiya
You do not have to go to court, that is optionally, you can just make the reclaim by pursuing the ones who sold you the ppi, they have 8 weeks, and if your not happy with the outcome, you can complain to the Financial ombudsman free of charge.
Look here on FOS details to give you an idea.;)

But I can't remember who sold me the policy. I think she was called tracey, or stacey or something, but she's left the branch now anyway. Will the ombusman be able to track her down? And she won't go to jail will she? She was quite friendly.I drum and knit to help Independent Drummers and Knitters to comply with their rhythms and knitting patterns. Hiya
LOL, you don't actually have to write down the name of the bank staff who sold you the product, just the bank itself who sold you the product, so no worries.:D;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

If you decide to complete the reclaiming questionnaire as shown as stage one here.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
There is questions on what company sold the product to you, so in your case just write "Lloyds TSB Bank".;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

So, I finally got news from Lloyds about my PPI.
End of July got a reply about my 8 yo credit card that, as a good moneysaver, I always try to pay the balance in full except in emergencies. I got offered £206 and got the cheque 1 month later
.
Same day the first cheque arrived, I emailed Lloyds enquiring about my other claim for a loan I had with them that ended a few years ago. I got a reply yesterday telling me they had sent me a final decision early August and would post me a copy of the letter. I knew the PPI I had paid on this loan was just over £2000.
Got copy of the letter today saying that I was getting £4.300 back :j. Good times! Should get the cheque soon, I hope
I would like to thank everyone that helped and to tell everyone else not to give up. You'll get what is rightly yours soon enough.
Now, going to invest this money towards my 3 yo daughter's education :T.0 -
