Selling a car

Hi

Where's the best place to sell a car? I've decided I use my car so little I'd be as well to hire than pay mot tax etc. Its a ford ka about 5 years old, not in great condition but very low millage.

I don't want to sell it privately and have to deal with weeks (months) worth of phonecalls and people coming to my home. Is that internet place with the daft advert good or should I go to a ford dealer or an independant, or... Everyone else that has got rid of their car has done in part exchange so I'm clueless.

Thanks
J

  • Stick it on eBay. Describe it well with lots of good photos. Start the bidding at a sensible amount to attract the bidders.

That, or put in to one of the smaller motor auctions.

That may attract the type of buyer that the OP is trying to avoid.;)

The low mileage is worth nothing if the condition is poor.

A Ford dealer won't be interested as it's too old.

An independent dealer probably won't want it if the poor condition is obvious and will make you a very low offer in any case.

That internet place with the daft advert is effectively an independent dealer so the same applies.

Selling privately is your best bet but if you really don't want to do that then ebay.

But, it seems that the OP doesn't want people " coming to my home ", which will happen with ebay.
  • obviously a dodgy car then if he doesnt want them to know where he live

    must be about to brake

Probably not, I can understand that he may not want the hassle of the " tyre kickers " and " chancers ".
