Student contents insurance

I am in private accommodation (shared house). Saw an advert on TV that got me thinking that I should have some insurance on my possessions.
I would like cover on my desktop PC, laptop & mobile (only expensive things I own) and would like it to cover all the standard stuff: accidental, theft, water
Can anyone recommend any cheap providers?
Thanks.

google 'student personal possessions insurance'
Endsleigh are one of the major providers of this cover and one of their selling points, is the 'walk-in' theft cover which is recommended if you live in a shared property.
Your parents Home Insurance might also be able to be extended to cover your possessions, but I think you are probably best to arrange your own cover. If you needed to claim, you would not want this to affect their premiums they pay.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Endsleigh quote at £140 per annum.
Protectmybubble.com (from tv advert) can insure my laptop and most for around £6.20 a month including accidental, water and theft. But will i be covered if the stuff is in my house?0 -
Well you are going to have to research that and compare what is available. I have no idea about protectmybubble cover.
As with most things, you get what you pay for. But with Insurance, you only find out if you need to claim. You need to do the leg work to read up on the policies available and if in doubt phone to ask questions. The comments I post are personal opinion.
