Anyone able to help......have bought a wireless USB adapter for my desktop (partner is wireless with Sky). It works for a ferw minutes and then down for hours. Have rung the company, done all the troubleshooting...painfully slowly due to language barrier. Started working co-incidentally while I was talking to them but again today cannot connect. Any ideas you wonderful Techies??? Have tried FAQ on here but can't see answer x

Assuming its not a range problem, can your PC see your wirelss network? It might be an interference problem
I suggest you try changing the wireless channel on your router.
To check if that is the case download inSSIDer and scan for possible interfering wireless channels.
PS, You would probably do better using Homeplugs rather than wireless on your PC.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Thanks for your help. Tried changing channel but to no avail......but...weirdly......have stopped the PC hibernating and this seems to have resolved the problem? Has been on all afternoon. Is there some obvious reason why this would be the case......and thanks for taking the time to bother answering:o0 -

Your PC hibernating may switch off the usb ports on your computer but it should power them up again once you wake it up.
