Hi everyone
I'm looking to take my fiance away for his birthday at the beginning of Feb and am looking for a weekend in a log cabin somewhere.
We are located near Manchester but are willing to drive up to about 3 hours away.
Any help appreciated as I can't find anything reasonably priced online.
Thanks
V

This has got good visitor reviews, although I have never been myself. Should fit the bill drive-wise, and you get free membership of local leisure centre too

We went to the Kielder Forest some years ago, it was lovely. Don't know how it fits with your price requirements, but you can get an idea here :

Try http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/lodges/search/vale-of-york?PCODE=306&SDATE=2011-2-18&DURTN=3&FLEXR=3&RCODE=1067 , I've got a good price for 3 nights at Yellowtop on there.0

Thanks for the responses everyone. Unfortunately they all seem to want 3 nights and we only have 2 days holiday left.
I've emailed Griffon Forest to see if they will let us go for 2 nights but we'll see what they say.
Thanks again0 -
Depending on the difference in price of 2 or 3 nights and what you want to do while your away it could be a good thing. Most holiday lets have a kick out time of late morning (11am ish) but if you pay for the following night you can stay in and around your cottage for a lazy afternoon early evening before leaving unrushed to get home ready for work .Thanks for the responses everyone. We own a holiday let (not open until March sorry) and if we sell a weekend FRI/SAT for say £100 we then sell a mid week break MON/FRI for around £160. We contact the Sat to Sunday people to see if they want to extend their break until Mon morning for around £25 extra often they do this but leave Sunday evening after making use of all the facilities (park, pool just to leave their bags while they enjoy the area)If the people are not interested we ask the people that are arriving on the monday if they want to travel on the sunday and arrive after Tea time they are welcome without charge. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
