"Carphone Warehouse is one of four companies under fire from the telecoms regulator for making silent calls. The phone giant generated too many 'abandoned' calls between April and July, an Ofcom investigation found.
It broke new rules which require companies to limit silent calls to 3% or less of all the calls they make.
Carphone also failed to provide recorded phone messages explaining to recipients why the calls had occurred, Ofcom said.
After an investigation, the regulator has found 'reasonable grounds' for thinking Carphone Warehouse breached the Communications Act 2003. "
